Martha offers several workshops and demonstration programs.  The workshops are hands-on so be ready to learn by doing!

Workshop Programs

Exploring Fabric Painting

(Minimum 8 students and Maximum 20 students.)

Totally hands on.  Here’s your opportunity to learn about and play with high quality artist materials you can later purchase for yourself.  Students will learn 9-10 different painting techniques and leave the class with painted samples in hand.  Don’t miss this one!

(Individual student fee covers use of paints, tools, and materials.  Students will be provided with gloves and several 10”, 12”, and 18” squares of prepared cotton blocks.)

3 to 4 Hours

NEW!! DYI (Do-it-yourself) Block Printing on Fabric and Paper 

(Minimum 8 students and Maximum 20 students.)

Using your own photos or line designs, learn how to carve a printing block and print on paper and fabric using paints and inks.  Students may bring their own designs/photos to class or use designs provided by Martha.  Very fun!  All supplies provided.

3 to 4 Hours

Exploring Fabric Marbling

(Minimum of 8 students and Maximum of 15 students.)

Using professional artist materials, learn how to marble on fabric.  Students will leave the class with at least 7, 10”x16” blocks.  Individual student fee covers supplies and previously prepared fabrics.  This class is awesome and worth it!!!

3 to 4 Hours

Free Motion Quilting

(Minimum of 6 students and Maximum of 25 students.)

This is a fast paced class that begins with a short trunk show of dos and don’ts, then moves into a teaching and practice session followed by an actual project.  This class moves right along so be ready to work and have fun.   Master handout will be provided.

Demonstration Programs

Having trouble filling workshops?  Why not consider a demonstration instead!  Participants can watch me do all the work and see how it is done without getting dirty!  Samples made during the demonstration will be distributed after the program is over.

Note: For small groups people can stand around a table.  For large groups the guild should provide a camera and projection screen so that everyone can see well.
